Our verdict

Lunacal suits consultants, coaches, agencies and service businesses that want a booking page that sells as well as schedules, plus paid sessions and packages, at a low per-user price. If you just need a plain booking link and already live inside the Calendly ecosystem, switching may not be worth the effort.

Best for: Consultants and service businesses who take paid bookings

What we like

  • Booking pages can carry widgets such as videos, images, testimonials, documents, maps, forms and podcasts.
  • Paid sessions through Stripe or PayPal, multi-session packages and coupons, with 0% booking commission.
  • Round-robin, collective scheduling and team pages for multi-person and multi-location businesses.
  • Low prices, starting at $9 per user a month.

Think twice if

  • There is a 7-day trial rather than a permanent free plan on the pricing page.
  • Round-robin and webhooks need Teams, and the AI voice agent, MCP server and SSO need Enterprise.
  • The AppSumo lifetime deal is sold out at the time of writing.

What Lunacal is and who the scheduling tool is for

Lunacal is online scheduling software. It does the jobs you would expect from a booking tool (calendar sync, availability rules, reminders, booking links) and adds two things that set it apart: booking pages you can customise heavily with your own content, and features for taking payment, such as paid sessions, multi-session packages and coupons.

The vendor calls it one customisable booking system for every business need, covering meetings, classes, sessions and appointments. I think it suits consultants, coaches, tutors, therapists, agencies and small service businesses best, where the booking page is often the first thing a client sees and many sessions are paid.

Key Lunacal features for online appointment booking

Branded booking pages, themes and widgets

This is Lunacal’s main difference from Calendly-style tools. You can choose themes, colours and backgrounds and add widgets including videos, images, text, testimonials, documents, maps, forms and podcasts, plus external links to WhatsApp or social profiles and embedded social feeds. Higher plans remove the “Powered by Lunacal” footer and let you send emails from your own domain.

Scheduling basics

Lunacal connects to Google, Outlook and Apple calendars with two-way sync and checks for conflicts across several calendars. You set working hours, buffers, notice periods, holidays and custom rules for each day. It supports 1:1 meetings, group classes and webinars, recurring events and multi-session packages, with online, in-person or phone locations. You can manually approve bookings, let the booker choose a duration, and redirect people to another URL afterwards.

Payments, packages and coupons

You can collect payment through Stripe or PayPal before a booking is confirmed, embed the booking calendar on your own site, sell packages that clients pay for upfront and book over time, and create limited-time or limited-use coupons. Lunacal says it charges 0% commission on bookings, and it can send reminders to people who drop off during the payment step.

Team scheduling

Teams can use round-robin scheduling to spread meetings evenly, collective scheduling when everyone needs to attend, team booking pages, and service booking flows where a client picks a service, then a provider, then a time. Multi-location and multi-service setups are supported.

Reminders, workflow automation and integrations

Email and SMS reminders and multi-step workflow emails run before, during and after meetings. Integrations include Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, Stripe and PayPal, Zapier, HubSpot and Pipedrive, webhooks, UTM tracking and Google Tag Manager. Lunacal is GDPR compliant and supports 13 or more booking languages with automatic time zone detection.

Newer AI features

The Enterprise plan includes an AI voice agent and an MCP server, both marked as beta, along with SSO and an account manager.

Lunacal pricing and the lifetime deal

Lunacal charges per user, with about 10% off for annual billing. Every plan has a 7-day free trial, and Lunacal offers a free setup call.

Plan Price Main extras
Standard $9 per user a month Unlimited calendars and services, online meeting tools, Stripe and PayPal payments, text and email reminders, booking page customisation
Teams $15 per user a month (shown as a discounted price) Team scheduling, multi-session packages, round robin, webhooks
Enterprise $25 per user a month AI voice agent, account manager, complete branding, MCP server (beta), SSO

A custom domain for booking pages is listed as an add-on.

Lunacal lifetime deal

Lunacal ran a lifetime deal on AppSumo with four tiers from $59 (2 users) to $469 (30 users), each including paid meetings, coupons, team booking pages, workflows and the ability to remove Lunacal branding. At the time of writing the deal is marked sold out. It had a strong rating on AppSumo (4.73 out of 5 from 127 reviews).

Limits for a business or individual user

  • No permanent free plan. The pricing page offers a 7-day trial, so it is not a direct replacement for Calendly’s free tier.
  • Per-user pricing. Cheap for one person, but a team of ten on Teams is $150 a month.
  • Feature split across plans. Round robin and webhooks need Teams, while SSO and the AI voice agent need Enterprise.
  • Booking page effort. The rich pages are only an advantage if you spend time adding good content to them.

Lunacal vs Calendly and other scheduling software

  • Calendly is the best known scheduling tool, with a free plan and a large integration ecosystem.
  • TidyCal is a simple, low-cost booking tool sold as a one-off lifetime purchase on AppSumo.
  • Acuity Scheduling is aimed at appointment-based businesses that take payments and intake forms.

Final verdict on this Lunacal review

Lunacal is a capable, cheap scheduling tool, and its booking pages, paid sessions, packages and coupons make it a strong fit for service businesses that sell through their booking link. The scheduling basics and team features are all there too.

I would use the 7-day trial to build one proper booking page with video and testimonials, take a test payment, and see whether clients respond better to it. If they do, Standard or Teams is good value.
