7.3/10AI SEO platform with the KoalaWriter article writer, an SEO agent using Search Console data and internal linking.
AI blog writer that researches keywords, writes and auto-publishes SEO articles, and adds a member backlink exchange.
We may earn a commission when you buy through our links. How this works
BlogSEO suits small businesses, SaaS founders and online stores that want a steady flow of SEO blog articles published without hiring writers, and who will still read what goes live. Skip it, or switch the backlink exchange off, if you are cautious about automated link building and Google's spam policies.
Best for: Small sites wanting hands-off SEO blog publishing
BlogSEO is an AI blog writer and publishing platform for SEO and AI search. You give it your website, it crawls the site, researches keywords and competitors, builds a content calendar, writes SEO articles in your brand voice and publishes them to your CMS on a schedule. Paid plans also join you to a backlink exchange, where links to your site are placed in articles published by other BlogSEO members.
The vendor says it has 750+ customers, and the site says the product is built in Paris. It is aimed at small businesses, SaaS teams, online stores and agencies that want organic traffic from Google and AI assistants such as ChatGPT without writing every article themselves.
One thing to clear up first: BlogSEO (blogseo.io) is not the same product as BlogSEO AI (blogseo.ai). They have different websites, pricing and features, and some review pages online mix the two up. This BlogSEO review covers blogseo.io only, and the alternatives section below explains how the two differ.
The setup is short: you drop in your URL, the tool analyzes the site, and BlogSEO says you get your first article in about 2 minutes. From there it picks each topic from your keyword list, decides when to generate and publish it, and fills the calendar for the month. You can step in at any point to change a topic, swap the order or edit a draft, but the default is that the platform runs on its own once your CMS is connected.
Research starts with a full crawl of your website, then runs keyword research with volume, trend, competition and search intent. You can track up to 10 competitors per website, and the content calendar lets you add, move, swap or delete planned articles. If you connect Google Search Console, it also suggests keywords from searches you already appear in and checks for keyword cannibalization.
The Ambition plan writes 30 SEO articles a month and the Starter plan writes 15. The pricing page says articles are written with GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5, with up to 3 HD images per article, internal linking and brand voice matching. You can edit articles by hand or with AI, and export everything as Markdown at any time. Articles can be written in 45+ languages, with extra languages sold as an add-on.
This is where BlogSEO does well. The integrations page lists WordPress (with a plugin, custom post types and Gutenberg support), Shopify (with product linking), Webflow, Framer, HubSpot, Ghost, Contentful, Strapi, Shopware and BigCommerce, among 23+ options. There is also a custom webhook for Zapier or Next.js sites, and a hosted blog on your own subdomain that only needs one CNAME record. Online stores can sync products so articles mention them (this part is in beta).
BlogSEO has an MCP server with 52 tools that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client read your articles and keywords, plan the calendar, run SEO checks and publish. It signs in with OAuth and uses the same credits as the app. A Chrome extension is also included.
Rank tracking is included, along with Google Search Console data (rankings, clicks and impressions per keyword and article), Google Analytics, and Bing Webmaster Tools rankings and sitemap submission.
Every paid plan adds 100 backlink credits a month. Each day, BlogSEO matches your site with member sites in related niches and puts one link to your most relevant page inside the next article that site publishes. A backlink costs credits equal to the linking site's Domain Rating, with a minimum of 10. The docs say that works out at no more than 17 backlinks a month on the Ambition plan, and the pricing page says up to 15. You cannot choose which sites link to you, the exchange is off during the free trial, and placed links stay live if you cancel. A crawler checks each link, and if a link is lost its credits are refunded.
BlogSEO says the network is not a PBN: links are one-way, sites are owned by real customers, anchors are rotated and sites with a high spam score are filtered out. That design is more careful than most link schemes. Even so, Google's spam policies list "excessive link exchanges" and "using automated programs or services to create links to your site" as examples of link spam. I would weigh that risk honestly before switching the exchange on for a site you can't afford to have penalized.
All prices are per website, with unlimited seats.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $59 a month | $45 a month | 15 articles a month, 8 AI Brain Credits, backlink exchange |
| Ambition | $97 a month | $74.08 a month | 30 articles a month, up to 15 backlinks, 15 AI Brain Credits |
| Enterprise | Custom | For agencies, white label and multi-site owners | |
The Ambition plan had a 3-day free trial when I checked. Add-ons include an AI visibility tracker ($89 a month per website, covering ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews), premium backlinks ($149 a month per website), extra article languages ($29 a month per language) and extra AI Brain Credits from $18.90.
BlogSEO's Trustpilot page is mostly positive. Reviewers praise the setup, the integrations and quick support from the team, and one customer says $97 a month gets them 30 blogs plus niche-relevant backlinks. There are negative reviews too. One January 2026 review complains about failed articles with no credit refund and says the backlinks were spammy and hurt rankings. Another calls the content "AI slop" and describes a public dispute with the company in the replies. The negative reviews are few, but they are about the two things that matter most here: article quality and link quality.
BlogSEO is a capable all-in-one tool for getting SEO articles researched, written and published to almost any CMS, and the MCP server and Search Console data are useful extras. The backlink exchange is the part I would be most careful with. I would pick BlogSEO if you run one or two small sites, want regular blog output and are willing to review each article before it goes live. If your site is your main source of income, I would leave the exchange off.
The Starter plan (15 articles a month) is $59 a month or $45 a month billed yearly. The Ambition plan (30 articles a month, up to 15 backlinks) is $97 a month or $74.08 a month billed yearly. Prices are per website.
Yes. The pricing page showed a 3-day free trial on the Ambition plan. The backlink exchange stays switched off during the trial.
BlogSEO says no: links are one-way, placed in new articles by real member businesses in related niches, with rotated anchors. Google's spam policies still list automated link building and excessive link exchanges as link spam, so I would treat it with care.
No. BlogSEO at blogseo.io and BlogSEO AI at blogseo.ai are separate products with separate websites and pricing. This review covers blogseo.io.
BlogSEO lists 23+ integrations including WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Framer, HubSpot, Ghost, Contentful, Shopware, BigCommerce and Wix, plus a custom webhook and a hosted blog on your own subdomain.
