AhaSlides suits trainers, teachers and team leads who want live polls and quizzes at a low yearly price. Skip it if slide design matters most or you only want monthly billing.
Best for: Trainers, teachers and team leads running interactive sessions
AhaSlides is interactive presentation software that adds live polls, quiz rounds, word clouds, Q&A and surveys to your slides. The audience joins from their own phones by typing a short URL or scanning a QR code, with no app download, and each response appears on the shared screen as it comes in. It runs in the browser, so you can present from a laptop, tablet or even a phone, though the docs recommend a computer for building and editing.
It is used by trainers, teachers, team leads, event hosts and anyone who runs meetings where people tend to switch off. The vendor says 2M+ presenters in 142,000+ organizations use it, which is its own figure rather than something I can check. It sits in the same market as Mentimeter, Slido and Kahoot, and the main reasons people try AhaSlides over those are the generous free tier and the low yearly prices.
The clearest fits are company training and onboarding sessions, where a short quiz checks that people took something in; classrooms and education, where self-paced questions keep students active; all-hands meetings, where anonymous Q&A gets questions asked that nobody would raise out loud; and conferences or events, where a word cloud or poll gives the room something to do. It also works for socials and trivia nights, where the fun side matters more than the data.
The polling side covers multiple-choice votes with live bar or pie charts, word clouds where popular answers grow as more people submit them, open-ended walls, brainstorm slides with group voting, rating scales and a Split the Points slide for weighting priorities. There are also Annotate and Draw Answer slides where participants mark up a shared image or sketch from their phone. The Q&A feature lets people ask questions before, during or after a session, with anonymity, a profanity filter and (on Pro) moderation.
Quiz formats include pick answer, match pairs, correct order, fill in the blank, true or false, and sorting into categories. You get leaderboards, a team play mode for group competition, a spinner wheel and a self-paced mode so learners can take a quiz in their own time. That makes it useful for training and education as well as for icebreakers and group activities.
You can run live or self-paced surveys with images and multimedia, then look at reports on session engagement, question results and participant performance. This is handy for collecting feedback at the end of a workshop without a follow-up email. On the pricing page, the more detailed reporting and data export options sit on the paid tiers.
AhaSlides has an AI slides generator and a PDF/PPT-to-quiz generator. The free tier allows 5 queries a month for each, Essential allows 20, and Pro and Enterprise are unlimited. As with any AI generator, expect to edit the output before you present it.
The editor saves every change automatically. While presenting, you can use Remote Control to move through slides from a phone or tablet, reveal quiz answers when you choose (on paid tiers) and embed YouTube video, other multimedia and websites into the deck.
You can import PPT, PPTX or PDF files and insert interactive slides between your existing content, or use the add-ins for PowerPoint and Google Slides. There are also integrations for Microsoft Teams, Zoom and RingCentral. The pricing page says full integrations are included on all tiers, including Free, which is a real benefit for remote and hybrid meetings. If you mainly present from PowerPoint, this is the topic to check first, because the add-in lets you keep your deck and add the interactive parts on top.
Prices below are from the AhaSlides pricing page when checked, in USD. Yearly billing is much cheaper than monthly.
| Plan | Yearly (per month) | Monthly | Participants per presentation | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50 | Unlimited presentations, all integrations, limited AI |

Bundles save up to 20% when you buy several licenses, and there are special rates for teachers, students and nonprofits. Paid tiers carry a money-back guarantee, but read the condition: the FAQ says a full refund is available within 14 days only if you have not used AhaSlides at a live event.
The participant limit is per presentation. If more people try to join than your tier allows, the session carries on but the extra people cannot take part, so check your audience size before the event and upgrade if needed. You will not want people to stop at a join screen.
On GetApp, AhaSlides has a 4.5 out of 5 rating from 63 reviews when checked. The review summary says users find it intuitive, quick to set up and good at making a presentation more engaging, especially for events, workshops and classes. The repeated complaints are limited design options, basic templates and some difficulty with advanced slide formatting and importing content. The AhaSlides pricing page itself shows a 4.6 out of 5 rating on G2.
Poll Everywhere is also worth a look if your audience mainly responds inside PowerPoint and you want an older, established option.
AhaSlides is a solid, affordable way to add live polls, quizzes, word clouds and Q&A to a presentation, and the free tier with 50 participants and full integrations is more generous than most. I would pick it for training sessions, classes and team meetings where engagement matters more than slide design, and pay yearly if you present often. If you need beautiful slides, very large audiences on a budget, or a mature corporate Q&A tool, compare it with Mentimeter and Slido first. Either way, try AhaSlides on the free tier before you pay, and note the refund condition.
Yes. The free plan has no time limit, allows up to 50 participants per presentation and includes unlimited presentations and all integrations.
Kahoot is built around game-style quizzes, while AhaSlides covers quizzes plus polls, word clouds, Q&A and surveys inside a presentation. For meetings and training, AhaSlides is the broader tool.
No. Participants join by typing a URL or scanning a QR code on their phone or tablet.
Yes. You can import PPT, PPTX or PDF files into AhaSlides, or use the PowerPoint add-in to add interactive slides to an existing deck.
