What Emailit is and who it is for
Emailit is an email platform for sending both transactional and marketing email from one account. Developers can send through a REST API or SMTP relay, receive inbound email as JSON, and track every message; marketers can run campaigns and automations to audiences from a dashboard. Everything shares one bill and one sending reputation.
It is aimed at SaaS companies, app builders and small businesses that need password resets, receipts and notifications to arrive reliably, and also want to send a newsletter without paying for a second tool. Emailit says it runs its own data centre in the EU, which will matter to some buyers.
Emailit features to send product and marketing email
Transactional email, API and SMTP
The email API comes with SDKs, and the SMTP relay is a drop-in option for any app or CMS. Inbound email can be received and routed as JSON. Logs record every message, attempt and response, and webhooks are signed, retried and real time. Templates can be built with drag and drop, rich text or HTML. Emailit has also added connections for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Codex and Grok.
Email marketing, campaign and automation tools
Audiences hold subscriber lists with hosted signup, contacts have unified profiles with custom fields, and campaigns cover newsletters and announcements with A/B tests and personalisation. Double opt-in, welcome emails, a manage subscriptions page and an unengaged subscriber filter are included. Forms (in beta) support popups, flyouts, banners, full-page and embedded forms with targeting and A/B tests, and visual automations are triggered by events.
Deliverability and analytics
SPF, DKIM and DMARC are enforced, bounces and complaints are suppressed automatically, and senders with a bounce rate under 3% use what Emailit calls pristine shared IPs. Dedicated IPs are an add-on at $30 a month per IP. Open and click tracking and simple analytics are on every plan, while Pro adds a delivery dashboard, advanced analytics and DMARC reports. Email list verification and a verification API are available on credits.
Emailit pricing, each plan compared
Emailit charges in credits. An API or SMTP email or an inbound email uses 1 credit, a campaign email 2, an automation run 3 and an email verification 5. Purchased credits never expire. At the time of writing:
| Plan | Price | Credits included | Notable limits and extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 3,000 a month | 100 emails a day, 3 sending domains, API, SMTP, campaigns and automations |
| Pay as you go | $2 per 10,000 credits (from $20) | 3,000 a month free | From 5,000 emails a day after a purchase, up to 10,000 subscribers per audience |
| Pro | $25 a month ($20 billed yearly) | 100,000 a month | Bulk and batch sending, advanced analytics, DMARC reports, white-labelled unsubscribe page |
| Business | $250 a month ($200 billed yearly) | 2,500,000 a month | 99.9% uptime SLA, urgent support within 4 hours, SQL analytics |
| Contract | Custom | Flexible | 99.99% SLA, dedicated IPs and onboarding, security reviews |
Extra credits on Pro and Business cost $1 per 10,000. Emailit’s own estimator puts 100,000 transactional emails plus 10,000 campaign emails a month at about $22 on Pro.
Emailit lifetime deal
Emailit ran a lifetime deal on AppSumo with tiers that included a monthly credit allowance (from 20,000 credits a month on Tier 1), unlimited campaigns and audiences, automations, webhooks and Discord support. At the time of writing the deal is marked sold out.
Limits, support and data retention
- Free tier is for testing. 100 emails a day is fine for development, not for a live product. A credit purchase raises the limit.
- Marketing features are still growing. Segments are marked as coming soon, and email preview testing and test inboxes are planned. Newsletter-first users may find it basic next to a dedicated tool.
- Technical setup. You need to add DNS records for SPF, DKIM and DMARC and, for transactional email, connect your app by API or SMTP.
- Logs on cheaper plans are short. Pay as you go keeps 7 days of logs and 30 days of activity, against 30 days and a year on Pro.
Emailit vs SendGrid and other alternatives
- SendGrid is the long-established email API and marketing platform from Twilio.
- Amazon SES is very cheap raw sending infrastructure, with much less built on top.
- SendFox is a simple newsletter tool for creators, sold with a lifetime option on AppSumo.
Verdict
Emailit is a good, modern option for sending email from a product, and it is unusual in putting transactional email and marketing campaigns on the same contacts, templates and bill. The credit pricing is clear and cheap at small and medium volumes.
I would start on the free tier while you set up your domain and API, then move to pay as you go or Pro once you have real volume. If newsletters are the main job, compare it with a dedicated marketing tool first.
