AppSumo is the best known place to buy software lifetime deals, and for most buyers it is still the first place to look. It is not the only marketplace, though. If you only check AppSumo you will miss tools that launch elsewhere, and occasionally the same product at a different price. Here is how the main AppSumo alternatives compare, based on what each platform publishes about itself at the time of writing.
AppSumo, the marketplace benchmark for business software
AppSumo describes itself as running software deals for 16 years and says it has more than 2 million customers. It sells lifetime and some annual deals for SaaS tools aimed at startups, entrepreneurs, marketing teams and small businesses, and also builds its own products (AppSumo Originals such as TidyCal and SendFox).
- Refunds: most deals are refundable for 60 days. Some are shorter (for example, the reap deal had a 30-day window), so check the box next to the price.
- Selection: AppSumo’s browse page listed 340 products at the time of writing.
- Labels worth knowing: Select (vetted for quality), Launchpad (newer products chosen for potential), Plus exclusives (for paying AppSumo Plus members) and Originals (built by AppSumo).
- Reviews and questions: each deal has buyer reviews and a public questions tab where founders answer, which is one of the most useful parts of the platform.
The downside is that popular deals sell out, and many of the deals people remember are no longer available. Of the AppSumo deals I checked for this site’s reviews, most were marked sold out at the time of writing.
StackSocial, best for consumer software products and AI apps
StackSocial is a large deals marketplace based in Venice, California. It is broader than AppSumo: alongside apps and software it sells online courses, memberships, electronics, gadgets and gift cards. Its software deals lean towards consumer and productivity tools, such as Microsoft Office licences, VPNs and ad blockers, and multi-model AI apps.
Examples live at the time of writing include a 1min.AI Pro lifetime subscription for $24.97 (with 1,000,000 credits a month and refunds within 30 days, according to the deal page) and an AskAnyModel AI Pro lifetime plan for $39.99. StackSocial publishes its own refund and cancellation policy for digital vouchers and licence codes, and refund windows are shown on individual deals.
It is a good place to look for consumer software, security tools and AI apps. It has less of a SaaS business-tool focus than AppSumo, and the community questions and founder answers that make AppSumo useful are less prominent, so customer support questions usually go to StackSocial’s help centre or the vendor.
DealMirror, best for niche and exclusive SaaS deals
DealMirror sells lifetime deals on SaaS, AI tools, web tools, WordPress plugins, courses and designs. It runs many short-term exclusive offers with countdown timers, and its homepage was advertising a sitewide sale on lifetime plans at the time of writing.
- Refunds: DealMirror’s terms describe a 30-day money-back guarantee unless the deal states otherwise.
- Shutdown protection: its terms say that if a product is discontinued within 12 months of purchase, Prime members get 100% wallet credit and other buyers 50% wallet credit. Note that this is store credit, not cash.
- Selection: smaller and more niche than AppSumo, with many tools you will not see elsewhere.
DealMirror is worth a look if you like to explore niche tools and lower prices, but the products are often newer and less proven, so read the deal terms and do your own research on the vendor.
Dealify, best for small indie SaaS tools
Dealify is a smaller store that sells lifetime deals on indie SaaS tools, many of them early-stage products you will not find on AppSumo. When I checked it for this update it listed 130 products, priced from $19 to $297, with most around $69.
The tools tend to be newer and less proven, so the vendor check matters even more here. Dealify does not publish one store-wide refund window that I could find, so read the terms on each deal before you buy.
AppSumo alternatives comparison table
| Platform | Focus | Standard refund window | Worth checking for |
|---|---|---|---|
| AppSumo | SaaS for small businesses and marketers | Mostly 60 days (shown per deal) | The widest choice of business SaaS, buyer reviews and founder Q&A |
| StackSocial | Consumer software, AI apps, courses and gadgets | Shown per deal (30 days on the 1min.AI deal) | Office licences, VPNs, multi-model AI apps |
| DealMirror | Niche SaaS, AI tools, WordPress plugins | 30 days unless the deal says otherwise | Exclusive and niche tools, short-term offers |
| Dealify | Indie and early-stage SaaS | Check each deal | Newer tools at low prices, often not on AppSumo |
Key tips for buying a lifetime deal on any platform
- Check the vendor as well as the store. A lifetime deal is only as good as the company behind it. Look at how long it has been around, its team size and whether it still ships updates.
- Read the refund terms on the deal itself. Windows vary from deal to deal and platform to platform, and store credit is not the same as a refund.
- Compare with the vendor’s own pricing. Some vendors now sell lifetime plans on their own sites too, sometimes at a different price.
- Look for the same tool on more than one platform. Prices and tier limits can differ.
- Use the refund window properly. Set up the tool on real work in the first few weeks, not on day 59.
Conclusion, which AppSumo alternative should you use?
For business software, I would still start with AppSumo because of its selection, buyer reviews and mostly 60-day refunds. Check StackSocial when you want consumer software or an all-in-one AI app, DealMirror for niche tools and exclusive offers, and Dealify for smaller indie tools. Whichever platform you use, the vendor matters more than the store.
