A good fit for course creators, coaches and info-product sellers who will use the funnel, checkout, email and course tools together. Skip it if you only need landing pages or an email list, where cheaper tools do the job.
Best for: Coaches and course creators selling their own offers online
ClickFunnels is an all-in-one sales funnel builder. You build landing pages, order forms, checkout pages and upsell steps, then connect them into a sales funnel that takes a visitor from first click to purchase. Around that core, ClickFunnels now includes email marketing, automations, a CRM with pipelines and appointments, online courses, community groups, a store for physical products and an affiliate center. The site footer describes ClickFunnels as an Etison product, based in Canton, Georgia.
It is built for people who sell their own offers online: coaches, course creators, consultants, info-product sellers and small ecommerce brands that want to run the whole sales process from one account. If you need a content-heavy website or a large catalog store, ClickFunnels is not the obvious choice. The vendor says it has 100K+ users and that more than 1 million sales funnels have been created on it.
Be aware of how ClickFunnels markets itself. The site leans heavily on income testimonials ("our family made more money in 1 day than we had ever made before") and a banner for a free "One Comma Club" challenge aimed at people who have never made a sale online. The software is a real, established product, but those stories are marketing, not a typical result. Judge ClickFunnels on its features and price, not on the testimonials.
The ClickFunnels editor is a drag-and-drop tool for designing funnel steps. ClickFunnels recently launched a new funnel builder, which it describes as faster and built from customer feedback. You can start from a template or design a page from scratch, and every account includes hosting, unlimited visitors and a free myclickfunnels.com subdomain until you connect a custom domain.
The home page groups what you can build into stages of a sales funnel. Attract covers landing pages, lead magnets, opt-in forms, surveys, blogs and a full website. Sell covers order forms, checkout, tripwire funnels and ecommerce stores. Upsell covers one-click upsells, one-time offers and order form bumps. Repeat covers courses, membership areas, community groups and email sequences. The idea is that your whole business runs as one funnel, from first lead to repeat customer.
The funnel builder page lists what the redesign changed. You can jump between funnel pages without waiting, see stats for each funnel step (what is converting and what is not), and switch between the funnel builder, workflows and opt-ins from the top of the screen. Workflows, contacts, orders and performance data now sit inside the funnel view, so you can set up an email sequence or check an order without leaving the funnel you're building. ClickFunnels claims funnels are built "300% faster than before", which is the vendor's own figure and not something I can confirm. If you're comparing it with older ClickFunnels reviews, keep in mind that many of them describe the previous editor.
Smart Checkout builds checkout pages inside your funnel, and Payments AI handles payment processing; ClickFunnels says it is included at every price point. ClickFunnels also says it does not take a percentage of your sales. A/B testing works on both funnel pages and email campaigns, so you can test a headline or an offer and track which version has the better conversion rate. Discounts, countdown funnels (a timer on an offer) and short links for tracking or redirecting URLs are built in too.
The CRM side covers contacts, opportunities (sales pipelines), appointments and calendars, and a Message Hub for two-way conversations with leads and customers. Email marketing covers broadcasts and sequences, with monthly sending limits, and the automations app lets you build marketing workflows that react to what a contact does. For a solo business this can replace a separate newsletter tool and booking app, which is the main argument for paying ClickFunnels prices.
You can sell an online course, a coaching program or a membership site from the same account, and run a community group for members. The number of courses is capped by tier (3 on Launch, 6 on Scale, 10 on Optimize). There is also an affiliate center for running your own affiliate program, and analytics across your funnels so you can see where buyers drop off.
Every paid tier starts with a free trial, and there is a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can switch tiers during or after the trial. Paying annually works out at roughly two months free.
| Tier | Monthly | Billed annually | Main limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | $97/mo | $81/mo | 1 workspace, 2 team members, 10K contacts, 50K emails a month, 3 courses, 5 custom domains, standard support |
| Scale | $197/mo | $164/mo | 5 workspaces, 5 team members, 75K contacts, 300K emails, 6 courses, unlimited domains, custom code editor, webhooks and full API |
| Optimize | $297/mo | $248/mo | 10 workspaces, 10 team members, 150K contacts, 750K emails, 10 courses |
| Dominate | Annual only | $5,997/yr | 20 workspaces, 20 team members, 400K contacts, 1.2M emails, 20 courses, VIP support, private onboarding |
All tiers currently show unlimited funnels, but ClickFunnels marks that as "limited time", so a funnel cap could come back. The built-in AI tools are capped by words (1M on Launch up to 10M on Dominate). There is no free plan, so the trial and the 30-day guarantee are the only ways to try ClickFunnels without paying.
The pros are real. Having everything in one account means a solo seller can drop several subscriptions. The funnel-first structure, with upsells and order bumps built in, suits people selling offers, and the templates mean you are not starting from a blank page. There is no transaction fee on sales, and the 30-day guarantee lowers the risk of trying it.
The cons matter too:
Whether ClickFunnels or an alternative fits depends on how many of the built-in features you will use. If you would use the sales funnel, checkout, CRM and course features together, ClickFunnels replaces several tools. If you would use one or two, a cheaper tool focused on that job is usually better value, and each feature in a specialist tool tends to go deeper.
ClickFunnels makes most sense when the sale is the whole point of the page. A coach selling a program, a creator launching a course, or a small brand selling one hero product can build the opt-in, sales page, checkout, upsell and follow-up emails in one place, then see each step's conversion numbers side by side. That is the job it was designed for.
It makes less sense if you're building a content site, a blog-led business or a large online shop with hundreds of products, where a website builder or ecommerce platform does more for less. It also asks for time, since a full funnel with upsells, automations and a course is a real project even with templates.
ClickFunnels is still one of the most complete funnel tools for people who sell their own offers online, and the current tiers bundle a lot into one account. The price is the hurdle, along with marketing that oversells what a funnel alone can do for a business. I would pick ClickFunnels if you sell courses, coaching or digital products, will use most of the built-in apps, and can justify $97 a month or more. If you only need a landing page and a mailing list, a cheaper page tool or a dedicated newsletter service is a better use of money.
