FuseBase review overview, what it is and who it is for
FuseBase is a client portal and collaboration platform. It started life in 2014 as Nimbus Note, a note-taking app, and has grown into a workspace that covers both sides of client work: an internal space for your team (docs, tasks, files, chat) and branded external areas where clients see deliverables, files and next steps.
The vendor says more than 3,000 businesses use it, and its examples are agencies, consulting, finance and legal, and training and hiring firms. That matches who I think should look at it. In this FuseBase review I focus on the features that matter for that kind of business, the plans, the lifetime deal and the support you can expect. If you run an agency or consultancy and currently juggle a project tool, a file share and a separate client portal, FuseBase is trying to replace all three.
Key FuseBase features, portals and tools
Client portals, deal rooms and sites
This is the main reason to pick FuseBase over a general knowledge tool. You can create a fully branded external space for clients, sales deal rooms or SEO-friendly sites, and pull FuseBase pages and apps into them with permissions and secure access, so sharing files and updates with a client happens in one place. White labelling and custom HTML and CSS are included, and portals can be built with AI so embedded pages match each one’s colours.
Team docs, tasks and project management
For your own team you get drag-and-drop pages, task lists, Kanban boards, a calendar view, dashboards, file management and content templates. Documents can hold tables, PDFs, images and embeds from Figma, Miro and Looker Studio. Chat, mentions and comments handle day-to-day collaboration, and FuseBase AI can draft, summarise and answer questions across your content.
AI agents and AI coworkers
Every plan includes AI agents, with a monthly allowance of AI requests and transcription hours. The newer FuseBase Work module, powered by Paperclip, sets up AI coworkers running on Claude or ChatGPT with roles such as onboarding lead, project planner or quality reviewer, while your own people keep final approval.
Hosted tools and custom apps
FuseBase now hosts Paperclip, n8n and Firecrawl for you, handling maintenance and updates, and connects them to the workspace through APIs and MCP. You can also build custom apps that extend FuseBase using AI tools and editors you already pay for, such as ChatGPT, Claude or VS Code. In a recent AppSumo update the co-founder said reselling what you build in FuseBase has been postponed and is now a goal for 2027.
Integrations and workflow automation
AppSumo lists Calendly, Data Studio, Google Docs, HubSpot and Zapier. There are also FuseBase browser extensions and an MCP server for connecting AI assistants. Workflow automation runs are metered by plan, from 1,000 a month on Solo to 50,000 on Advanced, and the hosted n8n option gives you a full workflow tool if the built-in automations are not enough.
FuseBase pricing and plans
FuseBase publishes these prices. Each paid plan has a 14-day free trial, and annual billing lowers the monthly price.
| Plan | Monthly | Billed annually | Members, portals, clients |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | $39 | $32 a month | 1 member, 1 portal, 1 client |
| Essentials | $99 | $82 a month | 5 members, 10 portals, 100 clients |
| Advanced | $399 | $266 a month | 50 members, 50 or more portals, 1,000 clients, white label |
| Unlimited | Custom | Custom | Unlimited |
Add-ons include extra client portals ($20 a month each), extra automation runs and extra transcription hours.
FuseBase lifetime deal on AppSumo
At the time of writing, the FuseBase lifetime deal is live on AppSumo at $79 per code, and you can stack unlimited codes. It comes with a 60-day refund window. The listed limits for the first tiers are:
| Codes | Price | Users | Workspaces | Client portals | Client accounts | Storage | AI agents |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $79 | 1 | 50 | 1 | 5 | 50 GB | 5 |
| 2 | $158 | 3 | 100 | 5 | 25 | 100 GB | 8 |
| 3 | $237 | 10 | 200 | 15 | 75 | 400 GB | 20 |
| 4 | $316 | 12 | 250 | 20 | 100 | 450 GB | 25 |
Monthly AI requests run from 1,000 on 1 Code to 15,000 on 4 Codes, and transcription from 5 to 30 hours. White labelling, the MCP server and FuseBase Work are listed on every tier.
Customer support, product updates and the company
FuseBase publishes guides, a public roadmap and an FAQ for AppSumo buyers, and the founder team answers questions directly on the AppSumo listing, which had more than 1,500 questions at the time of writing. The co-founder’s recent update says the team has rebuilt several core parts of the product over the past year, including markdown documents, sites and portals, and FuseBase Apps.
The company is not a brand-new startup. AppSumo lists it as founded in 2014, based in Ohio, with 11 to 50 staff and seed funding. For a lifetime deal, that history is a point in its favour, although it does not guarantee the software will stay the same. Customer reviews on AppSumo are mostly positive (4.68 out of 5 from 606 reviews at the time of writing), with some buyers mentioning bugs and the time it takes to get to grips with everything, so I would test your own client workflow during the refund window.
FuseBase cons, limits and drawbacks
- One user on the entry tier. The $79 code is for a solo operator. A small team needs at least 2 codes (3 users) or 3 codes (10 users).
- Client account caps. Five client accounts on 1 Code is enough to try it, not to run an agency with dozens of clients.
- Learning curve. FuseBase covers docs, tasks, portals, apps, agents and hosted tools. Buyers on AppSumo regularly ask how the pieces fit together, so plan time for setup.
- A product still being rebuilt. The founder’s update describes rebuilt sites and portals, new markdown documents and some features still in beta. That means fast progress, and probably some rough edges along the way.
FuseBase alternatives and comparison
- Notion is the simpler choice for internal docs and wikis if you do not need anything client-facing.
- Agency Handy focuses on agency operations, with client portals, service orders and invoicing.
- Basecamp is a straightforward project management tool with client access, for teams that want less to configure.
Final verdict on FuseBase
FuseBase is an ambitious tool, and for agencies the combination of an internal workspace with white-labelled spaces for clients is a strong reason to look at it. The hosted n8n and Paperclip options are unusual and useful if you already work that way.
I would buy the AppSumo deal only if the client-facing features are the main reason you want it, and I would budget for at least 2 or 3 codes if more than one person will use it. Solo consultants who just want tidy notes and tasks will find it more than they need.
