How we score

The same five questions for every tool we review.

Every tool we review gets a SaaSPic score out of 10. It is a judgement, not a formula, but it is made against the same five questions every time.

What we look at

  1. Does it do the job? What the tool actually does for the task it is sold for, and where it falls short.
  2. Ease of use. How much setup it needs and how quickly you can get something useful done.
  3. Pricing and limits. What you actually pay at the size you are likely to be, including caps, add-ons and lifetime-deal limits.
  4. Reliability and support. Bugs we hit, how often the product is updated and how support responds.
  5. Fit. How it compares with the alternatives for the people it is aimed at.

What the scores mean

  • 8 to 10: a strong choice for the people it is aimed at.
  • 6 to 7.9: good, with trade-offs you should read about first.
  • Below 6: works, but most people will be better served elsewhere.

Where our information comes from

Each review is researched from the product itself, its documentation, pricing pages and changelog, and what customers report. Where we have used a tool ourselves, the review says so and shows when we last tested it. We never claim hands-on testing we have not done.

Keeping reviews current

Each review shows when it was last updated. Prices on deal pages are checked at the platform every day and the date of the last check is shown next to the price.
